What to Look for When Viewing a Property

As you tour homes, consider the following to help evaluate each property objectively:

• Does the home meet your must-have needs (bedrooms, layout, storage, functionality)?

• Does it include any of your wants (outdoor space, additional living areas, upgrades)?

• What is the overall condition of the home? Does it appear well maintained?

• Will any major repairs, updates, or replacements be needed in the near future?

• What do you like most about the home?

• Are there aspects you don’t like — and could those be changed through renovation?

• How does the neighborhood feel? Are homes well kept, suggesting pride of ownership?

• Is the home positioned well within the neighborhood?

• Does the location support your lifestyle (schools, shopping, parks, commute, etc.)?
